1969 Shelby GT500 Drag Pack

From the final year of Shelby Mustang production comes this Grabber Green GT500 Drag Pack Fastback. Say that three times and fast! It is 1 of 145 Drag Pack cars and 1 of 74 Grabber Green 1969 cars (including the “left-overs™ later titled as 1970 Shelby Mustangs.) This three owner car was sold new at Minar Ford in Minneapolis before living its life in Texas for many years. The Drag Pack option meant you got the Super Cobra Jet engine with the better reciprocating assembly, an external oil cooler and other heavy duty bits. This particular car has the 3.91:1 rear axle ratio, a little more highway friendly than the other Drag Pack option of a 4.30:1 cog that would really test those higher strength rod bolts! This car also has the optional “big” suspension, also known as the “Extra Heavy Duty Suspension” option in Ford-speak. A low mileage car and very original car she was restored in the 1990s using N.O.S parts wherever needed and won a slew of SAAC and MCA “Gold” awards shortly thereafter. Now it is a nicely mellowed older restoration that loves to smoke its rear tires at will
