1941 Ford Pickup

The 1940/1941 Ford half-ton pickups are arguably some of the most handsome workhorses ever produced. By luck I found this one-owner, original paint and interior 1941 “farm truck” with its original factory flathead V-8. It had been in storage in a nice, dry corn crib in Iowa for many decades. The engine was stuck, and the interior (especially under the seat) was filled with a pleasing, aromatic mixture of dead rats and corn.

Beyond that, this old gal was a total gem. With just 35,000 original miles it was a great basis for what I wanted it to be, a mild period style hot rod pickup with actual, real patina. I proceeded to put a nice hot rod rebuild on her flattie, including a 4″ Mercury crank, original period Offy heads and a dual carb intake with Stromberg 97s, Red’s headers and a dual exhaust with mellow Smithy’s glasspacks. Underneath, some lowered Posie’s superslide springs gave it “the look,” which was perfected with some Firestone “bigs n’ littles” wrapped around her original steel wheels.

It gets driven frequently and is a fantastic race gas and race tire hauler at the track.

Hot damn I love this truck!
