1955 Ford F100 Custom Cab

My wife had been asking for an old Ford pickup for a few years, but, thinking she wasn’t serious I didn’t pay her much mind. (I’m a guy, that’s what we do.)

But this year I was at a car show the day before my wife’s birthday when I started thinking “hey, I think tomorrow is her birthday, I should find a present tomorrow.” (I’m a guy, that’s how we time things.)

Then I saw this truck- not just an “old Ford pickup” but a 1955 Ford F100 Custom Cab pickup with 40,000 miles on it, in its original paint and simply stunning. It also happened to be my wife’s favorite color for anything, and it didn’t ring any bells. After all, what did I need a truck for? (I’m a guy, that’s how it works.) After having a bratwurst it occurred to me: I COULD BUY THAT TRUCK FOR HER BIRTHDAY PRESENT! (Yep, I’m a guy.)

So, after a complex negotiation that included a bank on a Saturday, trucks, cars, taxis, and trains, I somehow bought this F100, got it home and presented the best birthday present ever.

See, guys aren’t all that bad.
